About the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia

The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) is a leader in preserving and sharing Australia's rich audiovisual heritage. With a collection spanning over 85 years, we are committed to telling the nation's story through our iconic and rare films, television programs, and sound recordings.

We are currently undergoing a period of significant change, with increased Government investment driving our digital transformation. This exciting new chapter will see us become Australia's most dynamic and valued cultural organisation.

As an ambitious organisation, we aim to be an employer of choice within the Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums (GLAM) sector. Our goal is to provide exciting and challenging work, favourable employment conditions, and unique development opportunities for our staff.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Indigenous Programs Coordinator to join our Indigenous Connections team. As part of a small team, you will assist in delivering a diverse range of programs and projects that amplify Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices and centre First Nations perspectives across the NFSA's collection-related activities.

Your key responsibilities will include coordinating team activities, providing support for collection acquisition, repatriation of collection content, and assisting in the curation and production of engagement activities.

To succeed in this role, you will require excellent communication and research skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Previous experience in the audiovisual industry and/or cultural sector would be highly regarded, although transferable skills from other fields will also be considered.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the preservation and celebration of Australia's rich cultural heritage.
