Job Title: Strategic Investment Manager\

As a key member of our team, you will lead the growth of innovative research ventures with lasting impact. This role focuses on developing and supporting RMIT's pipeline of commercialisation opportunities being shaped for investment and new company formation.

\

The successful candidate will have experience in managing and curating a technology pipeline in concert with stakeholders. They will also provide recommendations and advice at senior management, executive management level.

\

Key responsibilities include:

\
  • \
  • Amplifying the scale and quality of investment-ready opportunities in the RMIT pre-seed pipeline\
  • Accelerating the formation of new companies based on world-class IP\
  • Providing strategic investment advice to support the growth of innovative research ventures\
  • Mentoring and positioning initiatives for investment and long-term success\
  • Managing the processes associated with investment governance\
  • Collaborating and delivering results in a complex organisation\
  • Working across a range of technology options with proven mentoring and communication expertise\
  • Developing commercialisation initiatives with researchers, students and other stakeholders\
  • Demonstrated risk management experience in establishment of commercial initiatives\
  • Delivering results in a university environment\
  • Supporting the growth of innovative research ventures\
  • Shaping and guiding initiatives for investment and long-term success
\

Requirements include:

\
  • \
  • Post graduate degree in science, technology and/or business with demonstrated experience in commercialising University research or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education\
  • Experience providing recommendations and advice at senior management, executive management level\
  • Experience in managing and curating a technology pipeline in concert with stakeholders\
  • Complex Venture/Deal structuring experience to ensure models of translation are fit-for-purpose\
  • Proven ability to work across a range of technology options with mentoring and communication expertise\
  • Qualifications in relevant area of science, technology and/or business with demonstrated experience in commercialising University research
