Job Overview

This Senior Data Engineer role is a key position within our organization, focusing on designing and implementing large-scale data platforms and Business Intelligence solutions.

About the Role

As a senior technical expert, you will lead the delivery of robust Data Platform solutions. You will work closely with other professionals and client stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with clients to gather and clarify requirements and business rules through workshops and stakeholder engagement.
  • Contribute to technical architecture, design, and delivery for new data platforms.
  • Provide thought leadership to clients regarding data profiling and integration recommendations.
  • Develop data models using relational and dimensional modeling.
  • Manage the development life cycle using source code management tools.
  • Perform performance tuning and optimization on new and existing data warehouse solutions.
  • Provide detailed documentation, end-user training, and knowledge transfer services.
Requirements
  • Excellent consultation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record in designing and building modern data platforms.
  • Advanced skills in Azure, Fabric, and Snowflake pipelines, as well as experience with tools like Azure Data Factory, Coalesce, Matillion, dbt, and Fivetran.
  • Expertise in ETL/ELT process design and implementation.
  • Strong SQL performance tuning, query plan analysis, indexing, table partitioning, and cloud platform skills.
  • Experience in data platform implementation, configuration, performance, and cost management tuning.
  • Strong Power BI and semantic data modeling skills.
Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Certified data engineer or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in EDW design and implementation.
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in ETL architecting and design.
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in data modeling (Star schema & Snowflake schema).
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in semantic layer development.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in reporting and visualization tools.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in Power BI.
