Shift Team Leader Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Shift Team Leader to join our team at our manufacturing facility.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the shift-to-shift operations and performance of the factory, ensuring safe and efficient production processes. They will lead and develop a small team, achieving quality outputs and meeting customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage an 8-hour rotating shift-based roster (day/afternoon/night) with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Lead by example in maintaining a strong health and safety culture within the team.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to the team on shift, ensuring smooth operation of extrusion lines and production areas.
  • Encourage collaboration and motivate the team to address issues and solve problems together.
  • Support operators in their learning and development, focusing on competency and experience in daily operations, continuous improvement, and effective teamwork.
About You:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and proven track record of managing small to medium-sized teams in similar industries.
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on approach, combined with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to prioritize operational tasks effectively, balancing safety, quality, efficiency, and throughput while driving continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and SAP (desirable).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage across workplace and workforce diversity.
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and results-driven focus to meet daily production targets.
  • Collaborative style and cross-functional engagement.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency, with reliable transportation and a driver's license.
