Senior Commercial Project Manager

About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Project Manager to join our team on the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance project. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team and contribute to the success of our projects.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager in ensuring EBTA governance, procurement, finance and commercial systems are implemented and effectively controlled. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting procurement activity in accordance with the requirements of the construction program.
- Certifying and processing subcontractor claims received from contractors in line with timing requirements.
- Assisting to ensure that commitments, cost to date, accruals, estimate to complete and risk & opportunity information are completed by cost code/control account owners in the required format and in accordance with timing requirements.
- Identifying trends in forecast costs and proposing measures to remedy elements of the project where costs are not meeting budget.
- Working closely with key EBTA personnel to understand and assist in managing key risks and opportunities as they relate to Section delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of bonds, guarantees, warranties, insurances, letters of intent and other common contractual mechanisms. They will also be able to manage the recording and submission of claims in respect of delay and loss / expense, as well as formulate detailed arguments in respect of such issues and make representation to the relevant parties.
- Able to use programmes and progress records to give notices and create reports for internal and external use.
- Experience in managing the recording and submission of claims in respect of extensions of time and/or loss and expense.
- Strong understanding of programmes and logic links.
