Job OverviewKey Responsibilities:- Routine receipting and processing of specimens; including operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Pre and post analytical specimen handling and preparation for testing
- Identification and prioritisation of urgent specimens to ensure timely results
- Filing and storage of specimens and accurate data entry
- Collaboration with scientists and laboratory staff as required
- Continuous learning and development of skills in specimen processing and laboratory procedures
- Adhering to established protocols and guidelines for laboratory operations
- Effective communication and response to result, sample requirements and general queries
- Proactive identification and resolution of problems at the pre-analytic stage
- Experience in specimen processing and data entry
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
- Independence and self-motivation with minimal supervision
- Understanding of the importance of adhering to standard operating procedures and protocols
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in laboratory techniques and medical terminology
- Desirable: Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or Pathology Collection
