Job Title: Medical Laboratory Associate

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Medical Laboratory Associate. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Routine receipting and processing of specimens, including operation and maintenance of analyzers.
  • Pre- and post-analytical specimen handling.
  • Identification and prioritization of urgent specimens.
  • Filing and storage of specimens and data entry.
  • Assisting Scientists in the laboratory as required.
  • Continuous learning of processing requirements for different sample types.
  • Staying up-to-date with processing updates.
  • Responding to results, sample requirements, and general queries.
  • Identifying and resolving problems at the pre-analytic stage.

About You:

To be considered, you should have:

  • Specimen processing and data entry experience.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of the importance of following procedures accurately.
  • Willingness to adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Previous laboratory experience and exposure to medical terminology (desirable but not essential).
  • Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or Pathology Collection (desirable).
