The role of an Impairment Benefits Specialist is to proactively manage, assess, and determine impairment benefit claims.

This involves navigating the requirements of relevant legislation, including the Accident Compensation Act 1985 and the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013, as well as WorkSafe guidelines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing impairment benefit claims from start to finish, including liability assessments, drafting medical panel submissions, and calculating entitlements.
  • Implementing, maintaining, and improving operational procedures to ensure effective claim management.
  • Providing timely reporting, information, and responses to internal and external queries.
