
Social Services Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Assessment and Referral Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be working in a call room environment, conducting assessments with individuals who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, providing information, and making referrals to accommodation and service providers.
This role requires a high volume of communication via telephone, building rapport quickly, and engaging clients. You will work closely in a small team environment supporting clients and daily entry of client notes into client management software.
The working hours will include a rostered basis, 150 hours per four-week period, with shifts including 8:30am-4:30pm, 9am-5pm, and 11:15am-7:15pm, with one Saturday shift per month.
Your Skills and Qualifications- You hold a recognised tertiary level qualification, minimum Bachelor's in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Behavioural Science, and Aboriginal Studies, Community Development, or related disciplines.
- You have 1-2 years' experience in social services sector (Level 4).
- You possess demonstrated high-quality assessment and interview skills.
- You have highly effective interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- You exhibit high emotional intelligence and resilience.
- You have demonstrated experience in engaging and working effectively with young people, individuals, couples, and families, who may be faced with multiple complex issues.
