Platform Youth Services is a growing not-for-profit based youth homelessness service, that has provided holistic services to vulnerable young people who are at risk of homelessness or who are experiencing homelessness in the Nepean, Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury areas for over 45 years.

**About the role**

We are looking for motivated and dedicated Case Worker to join our dynamic team who:

- Have an interest and passion for creating independence in young people and experience in working with young people who are homeless, or at risk and a knowledge of the range of issues facing homeless youth
- A consultative and collaborative working attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to provide good judgement in crisis and housing situations
- Commitment to a learning culture and ongoing professional development
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Ability to engage, relate and communicate successfully with people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to maintain an ethical, inclusive and non-judgmental attitude

**Qualifications**

**Qualifications, Checks and References**
- Completed Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services or Welfare qualifications
- Australian Citizen or Permanent resident
- Unrestricted Current 'C' class Driver’s Licence as you may be required to work across any of Platforms sites in the Nepean, Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury areas
- A valid National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification
- Two referees, including current or most recent manager.

**Essential Criteria**

**The minimum requirements to be considered for this role include**:
a. Minimum 12 months Case Work experience working with young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness

b. Sound Knowledge of Case Management in the Specialist Homelessness Sector

c. Sound Knowledge of Child Protection Systems and Mandatory Reporting Practices

d. Sound Knowledge of living skills and ability to implement programs

e. Proven skills in Referral and Assessment procedures

f. Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills

g. Proven ability to work confidently with challenging behaviours within a trauma informed and Client Centred Frameworks

h. Ability to use online case management systems and computer proficiency
