About the Role

This is a full-time position working in our Early Childhood or Primary Schools. You will assist the teaching staff in providing care and supervision for students, including those with special needs who require additional support. You will work collaboratively with staff and students to provide tailored support that meets the individual needs of each student.

Special Needs Education Assistants will work with students who have a range of abilities and needs, including Down Syndrome, Autism, ADHD, anxiety, language difficulties, and learning disabilities. Preference will be given to candidates with experience supporting students with additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students, including those with special needs
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement support plans
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure seamless transitions and smooth implementation of support plans

Requirements:

  • Be actively involved in a local Protestant Christian church and demonstrate an exemplary Christian lifestyle
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check
  • Obtain a Department of Education Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, dated no more than 3 months old
  • Possess a Certificate III or IV in Education Support or previous experience (desirable)
