Healthcare Support Specialist Position Overview:

This role involves working as a key member of our healthcare team to maintain high standards of security, documentation, and patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff by maintaining a high standard of vigilance and responding promptly to alarm signals
  • Assist in managing aggressive or difficult patients and visitors, utilizing effective communication skills to de-escalate situations
  • Participate in cleaning duties to a professional standard, adhering to Ministry of Health Standards and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff, and contractors/suppliers, promoting harmonious relations within the team and other services

Requirements for Success:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of hygiene, infection prevention, and control standards, ensuring a clean and safe environment
  • Ability to interpret and follow Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDs), Safe Work Practices sheets (SWPs), and written instructions
  • Hold current NSW Security licence (Class 1A minimum), Senior First Aid Certificate, Class C Drivers' Licence, or eligible for NSW Drivers Licence
  • Effective communication skills, enabling seamless interaction with patients, public, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Availability to work a 24-hour/seven-day rotating roster, including all shifts and public holidays
  • Sound understanding of customer service principles and commitment to delivering best practice
