Healthcare Support Specialist

This role offers a unique opportunity to provide assistance and support for the delivery of healthcare services in a secure mental health facility.

As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will work under the supervision of experienced healthcare professionals and engage in work in a discipline-specific area or assist in the delivery of healthcare services across a multidisciplinary team.

The primary objective of this role is to alleviate workload pressures on healthcare professionals, allowing them to focus on complex clinical tasks and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing support for operational functioning of ward-based service demands reporting to nursing operations, under the supervision of Allied Health Professionals
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of treatment plans

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent tertiary qualification in a relevant field, or related work experience and a willingness to work towards certification with the support of relevant authorities
  • Previous experience in working with people with a mental illness
