Head of Partnerships and Trade Marketing

As a key member of the management team, you will lead a high-performing partnerships and trade marketing function to drive business growth through strategic partnerships and innovative marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Staff Management:
    • Lead a team of experienced professionals with a focus on engagement, development, and performance.
    • Develop and implement strategies for staff management, including recruitment, training, and mentoring.
    • Manage department workflow and ensure effective communication across teams.
    • Oversee the selection and development of partnerships executives, cinema marketing executives, and interns.
  • Partnerships & Promotions:
    • Collaborate with global promotions teams to develop and execute local partnership strategies for priority titles in Australia and New Zealand.
    • Shape the direction for local brand partnerships and promote innovation in marketing practices.
    • Develop and manage 12-month brand partnerships strategies and milestone planners to guide staff in developing partnership plans.
    • Grow our contacts database across multiple industries through targeted brand partnerships.
    • Maintain high-level relationships with content synergy partners, including games, soundtracks, and publishing, to foster meaningful collaborations.
    • Build and maintain strong relations with marketing, media, and promotion agencies, as well as directly with brand managers.
    • Secure long-term strategic partnerships with media owners to unlock critical promotional media assets.
    • Review and benchmark partnership practices, fostering creative and innovative new ways of working with partners.
    • Advise on the review of status quo partnership practices and recommend innovative solutions.
    • Contribute to marketing group brainstorming sessions to nurture an environment of creativity for campaign ideas.
  • Exhibition:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with exhibitor marketing teams to drive collaborative marketing initiatives.
    • Work closely with exhibitor partners' marketing leads to set bi-monthly marketing and promotions priorities planning calendars.
    • Develop and manage 12-month cinema marketing strategies to leverage key cinema partner programs and assets.
    • Oversee in-theatre co-op marketing programs, including contra, retargeting/CRM, and social media strategy, to drive studio marketing efforts with exhibitors.
    • Represent the company at annual movie conventions and present alongside senior management.
  • Key Stakeholder Management:
    • Manage key stakeholder relationships with senior leads across NBCU and WB lines of business.
    • Leverage sister company ecosystems, including CP&L, Home Ent, Networks, and Theme Parks.
    • Drive effective communication and collaboration across all business units.
    • Oversee planning and execution of New Zealand brand partnerships strategies.
    • Manage New Zealand brand partnership approvals with head office.
    • Plan and execute New Zealand exhibition strategies.
    • Lead fortnightly WIP calls with New Zealand partnerships and exhibition teams to share insights and learnings.
  • General:
    • Provide general support and participation in major campaigns and events as required.
    • Lead ANZ activities for Global Symphony Gold Priority Projects and represent Universal Pictures on multi-territory conference calls.
    • Coordinate local Symphony activities across NBCU business units.
