Job Title: Senior Financial Strategist

About the Role:
The Shepherd Centre is seeking a Senior Financial Strategist to lead their financial strategy and operations in a newly created executive level position. This role is responsible for driving financial sustainability and impact as a strategic partner to the Executive Team and Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement long-term financial strategies to support The Shepherd Centre's mission and growth.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Manage cash flow, investments, and capital expenditure while maintaining compliance with regulations and mitigating financial risks.
• Support fundraising and revenue generation efforts by leveraging expertise in financial planning, analysis, and compliance.
• Lead and mentor the finance team to drive operational performance and excellence.
• Engage with stakeholders, including the Board, auditors, and funding organisations, through exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement, fostering a dynamic and adaptive environment.

Required Experience and Skills:
• 8+ years in financial leadership roles with experience working with nonprofits and/or boards.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting and financial management principles.
• Excellent financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting abilities, with proficiency in financial software systems.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities, with a proactive and innovative approach to challenges.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment, with a commitment to empowering children with hearing loss.

Essential Qualifications:
• Degree in finance, business, or economics from an accredited institution.
• Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) designation, with legal right to work in Australia.
• Working with Children/Vulnerable People Check and NDIS Worker Check.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
