Leading Mine Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mine Engineer to lead our technical team and oversee the technical elements of drill and blast, prepare and deliver robust short-term plans (STP), and align with the directions set by the medium-term plan (MTP).
This is a challenging opportunity for a senior mine engineer to lead a small team of 4 mine engineers overseeing multiple contract mining sites near Marble Bar in the Pilbara area.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop detailed short to medium-term planning horizons that utilize resources efficiently, identify risks clearly, and create a clear path for high operational performance and success.
- Contribute to the development and review of resource allocations and budgets reflecting business drivers and intentions.
- Design and review drill and blast operations, including hole layouts, charging instructions, timing, and post-blast analysis. Ensure regular reviews are documented.
- Conduct reconciliation of daily drill and blast, load and haul, and crushing performance to ensure alignment with the plan, and define actions to recover variances.
- Optimize pit designs, dump designs, stockpile designs, and haul paths in line with the STP and Atlas Iron standards to maximize ore recovery and minimize costs per tonne delivered to the ROM.
- Substantial experience as a mine engineer.
- Relevant academic qualification in mine engineering.
- Quarry manager certification desirable.
- Site senior executive certification desirable.
- Strong leadership skills managing teams and behavioral expectations.
- Understanding of mine planning cycles and activities.
- Practical skills in drill and blast design, pit optimization, and infrastructure design.
- Strong interpersonal skills for professional interaction with colleagues and contractors.
- Proactive, independent decision-making abilities.
- Flexible and adaptive approach to changing workplace requirements.
- WA C-class driver's license or equivalent.
