About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Liability Underwriter to join our team in Victoria, Australia. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for assessing and managing liability risks for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Apply underwriting strategy to target markets and accounts in the Victoria region
  2. Underwrite liability insurance risks in accordance with underwriting guidelines and standards
  3. Liaise with account management and business development teams to support account management and procurement
  4. Support and mentor team members, providing guidance as appropriate and taking responsibility for personal development
  5. Support the management of the liability portfolio across underwriting processing and credit management, documentation issuance, and general servicing and management of liability risks
  6. Build and develop relationships with customers, including partner agent and broker visits to nurture relationships and opportunities

About You

  1. Solid experience in general liability underwriting, insurance risk management, or related roles
  2. Excellent communication skills for interacting with insurance agents, brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders
  3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in evaluating general insurance risks and determining coverage terms
  4. Problem-solving abilities to address complex underwriting scenarios and negotiate terms with stakeholders
  5. Customer-centric approach to understanding client needs and providing responsive service
  6. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Pricing and Portfolio Management
  7. An insurance qualification, such as ANZIIF Cert IV or in the process of working towards
