About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our SME Underwriting Team. As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting complex risks in accordance with defined limits of authority or class authority, organizational policy, and underwriting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite complex risks, including Business Packages, Property, Liability, and Farm insurance products.
- Develop and implement a strategy to attract and retain high-value customers.
- Provide underwriting advice, referral coaching, and technical support to the team to assist in the development of individual knowledge and excellent service to clients, combined with a profitable portfolio.
- Monitor client and market requirements and client feedback by conducting client calls/visits.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and complies with organizational guidelines.
- Provide efficient and timely service and problem-solving solutions to brokers and clients.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all customers, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Manager Partnerships team to proactively engage and work on a strategic plan to grow the business with targeted customer segments.
About You
To be successful in this Underwriting role, you will have:
- Extensive experience in Underwriting.
- Broad insurance industry knowledge with a focus on Business Packages.
- Established customer relationship management and communication skills.
- Understanding of relevant insurance market conditions.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data and use for decision making.
- Relevant problem-solving and negotiation skills.
