Job Opportunity

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services is seeking a motivated volunteer management professional to work independently, prioritise tasks, and provide high-level support to Volunteer Brigades, Groups, and Units (BGUs) within the Metropolitan South East Region.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide management, administrative, and logistical support to BGU leaders, DFES Managers, and Local Governments to assist them in maintaining administrative and operational readiness and to comply with governance and statutory requirements.

This role also supports BGUs promotional, communications, community, recruitment, and retention activities by providing logistical and stakeholder relations support under direction from the Superintendent.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level administrative, logistical, and management support to BGU leaders, DFES Managers, and Local Governments.
  • Coordinate promotional, communications, community, recruitment, and retention activities for BGUs.
  • Assist with governance and compliance requirements to ensure readiness and regulatory adherence.
  • Support the Superintendent and regional team in prioritising tasks and managing activities.
  • Serve as a liaison with volunteers, units, and external stakeholders to facilitate engagement and collaboration.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder relations skills.
