You will have the chance to be part of a pivotal role in shaping trading partnerships by using data and vendor engagement plans.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced traders with a passion for driving successful business outcomes, working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where specialist negotiation skills can shape strategic decisions.

We are seeking an expert who will play a key role in engaging directly with vendor partners to ensure our trading terms cover Metcash's cost of doing business while providing fair value marketing activities.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to agree priorities for vendor partner engagement.
  • Liaise closely with finance teams to formulate robust terms proposals.
  • Use relevant facts and data to build fit-for-purpose vendor trading terms proposals.
  • Cross-functional collaboration to align trading terms with commercial objectives.
  • Lead end-to-end vendor engagements, considering counter proposals and modifying as necessary.
  • Validate and communicate trading terms outcomes.
  • Work with the legal team on changes to trading terms documentation.
  • Create new trading agreements from proposal to sign-off stages.

What You Will Need:

  • Solid experience in FMCG, Merchandise Buying or sales.
  • Experience or good knowledge of the trading terms process.
  • Excel proficiency, Power BI and Microsoft Office Suite familiarity.
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement confidence.
  • A self-starter with a positive attitude and collaborative approach.
  • A team player who thrives under pressure and delivers results.
