Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst Lead to join our Institutional Banking & Markets team in Sydney.

About the Role

As a Data Analyst Lead, you will be responsible for providing quantitative and analytical support to the Capital Structuring businesses. You will work with state-of-the-art Python based Beacon IDE, combining analytics, data, and graphics to develop innovative applications for users.

You will partner with various teams across the Bank, including practitioners in Securitisation and Credit Portfolio Management groups, risk and finance disciplines, and technology teams.

  • Plan and implement new initiatives to enhance infrastructure for Capital Structuring teams
  • Analyse data and develop tools for end-users to gain insights into the Bank's exposures
  • Design and develop efficient processes and systems
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure systems and processes meet requirements
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Advanced Python knowledge and experience or high levels of competence in other object-oriented languages
  • Strong knowledge and experience in financial modelling
  • Familiarity with web design is useful
  • Demonstrated experience with SQL databases
  • Exceptional analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong attention to detail with problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and spoken communications skills with strong influencing and interpersonal abilities
  • A good understanding of financial markets is advantageous
  • Tertiary qualifications in a numerate, engineering, and/or IT-based discipline or relevant industry experience
