Electrical Design Expert

We are seeking a skilled electrical designer to join our team. This role involves preparing detailed technical deliverables for clients while maintaining standards and ensuring accuracy.

This position requires a high level of expertise in electrical design, including the preparation of detailed technical documents, site inspections, and collaboration with engineers and designers.

About the Role
  • Design Detail: Interpret conceptual designs and transform them into detailed technical deliverables.
  • Drawing Preparation: Create and update electrical system deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, P&ID's, Cable Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Hookup Diagrams, Equipment BOM's, and Panel Arrangements.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct site inspections to gather data and verify existing drawings.
  • Support & Maintenance: Maintain infrastructure and design tool procedures, including assessing software and tools and driving continual improvement.
  • Training & Audits: Train new starters in design procedures and conduct regular audits.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with drafters, designers, and engineers to ensure timely project completion within budget.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure consistency and compliance with design standards across relevant standards.
Requirements
  • Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or recognized equivalent), or a relevant electrical trade background.
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical design drafting.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD (Intermediate to Advanced level).
  • Familiarity with design tools such as AVEVA Instrumentation and/or Eplan is desirable.
  • Exposure to 3D modelling software is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
  • Good oral communication skills for effective collaboration with engineers and design team members.
  • Solid computer literacy and sound mathematical skills.
  • Understanding of design standards and willingness to adhere to ISO 9001 principles.
