Electrical Design Lead

We are seeking a seasoned professional to step into a leadership role, committed to delivering high-quality electrical design solutions.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic team and take on complex projects, collaborating with diverse groups to create detailed technical deliverables for clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Delivery: Interpret engineer's conceptual designs into detailed technical deliverables, ensuring timely project completion.
  • Drawing Preparation: Create and update electrical system deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, P&ID's, Cable Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Hookup Diagrams, Equipment BOM's and Panel Arrangements.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct site inspections to gather data and verify existing drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Support & Maintenance: Maintain AutoCAD infrastructure and design tool procedures, ensuring seamless workflow and efficient project delivery.
  • Training & Audits: Train new starters in MIPAC's AutoCAD and design tool procedures and conduct regular audits, ensuring consistency and compliance with design standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with drafters, designers, and engineers to ensure timely project completion, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and excellence.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure consistency and compliance with design standards across relevant Australian Standards.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • A diploma or advanced diploma in electrical engineering (or recognised equivalent) with relevant industry experience, or a relevant electrical trade background.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical/Instrumentation/Control Detail Draftsperson.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD (Advanced to Expert level) and/or MicroStation.
  • Proficiency in design tools like AVEVA Instrumentation and Eplan.
  • Experience in 3D modelling software.
  • Strong oral communication skills for effective client and team interaction.
  • High level of computer literacy and excellent mathematical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and ideally an understanding of ISO 9001 principles.
  • Previous experience overseeing and reviewing design work.
