Electrical Design Project Leader

This is a senior leadership role for an electrical engineer who will oversee the delivery of complex electrical design projects across the energy sector.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in both primary and secondary design for high voltage (33-66kV) systems and will be responsible for mentoring junior staff and contributing to the delivery of complex power engineering projects.

The role involves leading and delivering detailed primary and secondary electrical designs for HV substations and industrial power systems, developing and reviewing protection schemes, collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure project success, and providing peer reviews and support to junior engineers.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and solutions-focused electrical engineer with a strong foundation in delivering complex design projects, excellent communication skills, and a passion for contributing to meaningful energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Leading cross-functional teams to deliver complex electrical design projects
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers
  • Developing and implementing project plans and timelines
  • Coordinating with internal teams to ensure project success
Requirements:
  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in HV electrical design (33-66kV)
  • Proficient in protection/secondary and primary design
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
