Redpath Partners Associate Director - National

Leading Residential Design studio in Brisbane with National and International portfolio, this award winning studio are embarking on strategic growth.

A new position for Design Principal has been created to take over the leadership of this award winning studio and lead the team.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Vision

  • Set and guide the design direction of major luxury residential and multi-residential projects.
  • Uphold and evolve the ethos—balancing innovation, locality, durability, and elegance.
  • Oversee conceptual, schematic, and design development phases.
  • Ensure exceptional design standards across all studio output, resonating with their legacy of organic and site-responsive architecture.

Project & Team Coordination

  • Lead and mentor design teams, from experienced architects to graduates.
  • Interface with senior leadership, ensuring smooth collaboration between design, visualization, interiors and site management

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Present design concepts to clients and articulate design rationale aligned with their vision and site context.
  • Maintain cohesive communication across teams and with external consultants.

Quality & Sustainability

  • Enforce high-quality design through detail orientation and material selections.
  • Integrate sustainability and long-term resilience into every design—reflecting emphasis on lasting, site‑honouring architecture

Technical Oversight

  • Supervise deliverables like drawings and documents, including adherence to codes and regulations.
  • Ensure innovation in construction methods and material handling where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture; registered architect status.
  • QLD Board of Architect registration ideal.
  • 10+ years in design leadership, preferably in high-end residential architecture.
  • Demonstrated expertise in concept design and Subtropical Modernism or similar.
  • Strong leadership, presentation, and mentorship skills.
  • Deep knowledge of software tools (e.g. Revit, SketchUp) and building codes.
