Community Engagement Coordinator Role

We are a busy health hub in the heart of Richmond, with a diverse and inclusive team that values meaningful work and supports each other's well-being.

The ideal candidate will have superior skills in delivering culturally-responsive services, keen ability to contribute to a respectful collegiate environment, and effective relationship building skills to foster a harmonious workplace.

This role is responsible for developing and delivering activities that facilitate client engagement, social connection, and participation in recreational activities. The successful candidate will lead the development and delivery of an activities program for clients of our mental health and addiction programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively engage with clients of the mental health and addiction programs
  • Uphold and promote the dignity of all people who use our service and promote awareness and understanding in the community
  • Identify and explore opportunities for client activities and events consistent with our program objectives
  • Conduct risk assessments and detailed project planning for activities and events
  • Work effectively with our Communications and Community Engagement Team to ensure activities are supported and promoted across the organization

Essential Qualifications, Attributes and Skills:

  • Qualifications in mental health, welfare or social sciences, psychology, public health, nursing or equivalent
  • Experience in consulting with clients; planning, coordinating and running activities
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with vulnerable people
  • Experience of working in a trauma-informed model of care

It is a requirement for all employees of our organization to demonstrate evidence of mandatory immunisations/vaccinations prior to commencement of employment, based on the Immunisation Category their position falls under.
