**About Us**:
The Sport, Recreation and Community Infrastructure Team is responsible for the provision of high-quality sport and recreation programs and services including but not limited to Sport and Leisure Planning, Facility Development, Community Facilities and Contract Management, Leisure Programs and Activities, Management of Community Hall and Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub, Community Liaison and Engagement.

**Role Overview**:
The Active Banyule Lead is responsible for overseeing the implementation of Active Banyule - Sport and Recreation Plan. This role focuses on strategy, policy development, planning, and project management to support and develop sport and recreation participation within the community that promotes Health and Wellbeing.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead the implementation of the Active Banyule Plan.
- Support the delivery of sports infrastructure and facilities through the implementation of the capital works program.
- Lead and participate in project teams, coordinating and consulting both internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and review policies for recreation and sport, coordinating efforts and planning.
- Collaborate for inclusive sport and recreation outcomes that support increased participation and positive health and wellbeing for all in the community.Lead the development of programs and projects, responding to emerging community needs and promoting access, equity and inclusion.

**Key Selection Criteria**:

- Demonstrated capacity to lead the implementation of Council's Active Banyule through collaborative work practices.
- Demonstrated capacity to work with associations, clubs, and the community to develop and create inclusive sport and recreation outcomes that support increased participation and positive health and well-being.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to plan and deliver capital works projects including project definition, consultation and management of diverse stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes
- Well-developed knowledge of strategy and local government policy as it relates to sports, recreation and health and wellbeing.Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to adapt communications to an identified purpose, build relationships and gain stakeholder cooperation with varied levels of understanding and/or experience.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or demonstrated relevant work.
- Previous experience working in local government (highly desirable).A driver's license.
