About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Pathologist/Clinical Educator to join our team at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. As a key member of our Speech Pathology Department, you will provide high-quality clinical teaching and Speech Pathology services to patients with communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Expertise: You will assess and manage patients in accordance with up-to-date knowledge of departmental clinical policies and currently accepted Speech Pathology Australia professional standards of practice.
  • Clinical Education: Contribute to the clinical education program and provide support to speech pathology staff in the provision of clinical education.
  • Evidence-Based Practice: Ensure that speech pathology services provided are based on the latest available evidence.
  • Patient Counseling: Provide information counseling regarding communication, cognition, and swallowing disorders to patients, carers, and other staff as required.

Classification and Salary: Classifications for this position will range from VW6 - VW9 ($102,091 - $116,646 per annum, pro rata).

Your Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), or Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia and knowledge of Speech Pathology Australia position papers / Code of Ethics.
  • A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC), or willingness to obtain.
