At St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, we are seeking an exceptional Clinical Speech Pathologist/Clinical Educator to join our esteemed team.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to provide high-quality clinical teaching and speech pathology services for our department and the University of Melbourne's department of Audiology and Speech Pathology. You will be responsible for delivering clinical expertise in speech pathology assessment and intervention for individuals with communication and swallowing disorders across our residential aged care facilities, bed-based transition care program, and as required, subacute inpatient units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and manage patients in accordance with current clinical policies and professional standards of practice.
  • Contribute to the clinical education program and provide support to speech pathology staff in providing clinical education.
  • Evaluate and implement evidence-based practices to ensure high-quality speech pathology services.
  • Provide information counseling regarding communication, cognition, and swallowing disorders to patients, carers, and other staff as required.
Your Expertise

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), or Bachelor of Speech Pathology, or equivalent qualification.
  • Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia and knowledge of Speech Pathology Australia position papers/code of ethics.
  • A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willingness to obtain.
