About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Support Officer to join our team at the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-level administrative support to our staff, volunteers, and brigades, ensuring the effective management of our office and the delivery of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to staff, volunteers, and brigades, including preparing and coordinating correspondence, reports, and other materials.
  • Undertake general office duties, including mail distribution, filing, diary control, travel arrangements, and maintenance of office equipment and asset records.
  • Respond to enquiries from staff and volunteers relating to uniforms, equipment, and stationery, including receipting, ordering, and system maintenance.
  • Coordinate and process training records, human resource, and finance administration activities, ensuring compliance with departmental policy and procedures.
  • Liaise and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including members of the public and volunteers, to support key processes and procedures.
  • Utilise databases to create, update, analyse, and report on business activities, providing operating support to ensure compliance and effective maintenance of records and access to information.
Requirements
  • Highly desirable requirements include government purchasing qualifications (level 1), knowledge of or experience in the use of human resource systems, finance systems, database management, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of or experience working with volunteers and/or within a volunteer organisation is also highly desirable.
