We are seeking a dedicated journalist who thrives on creating engaging digital content and has a genuine interest in advocating for regional communities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Identify and develop stories across various topics relevant to local communities, producing high-quality copy that informs and engages the audience.
  • Drive subscription growth for the digital platform and increase website traffic through effective storytelling.
  • Lead and inspire digital content teams by developing compelling storylines of the highest quality.
  • Use data analytics to discover new trends and track content performance online, delivering stories that inspire and inform the community.
  • Establish strong connections with local businesses, sports teams, political leaders, families, and citizens.
  • Utilize digital storytelling tools, including interactives, video, and graphics.
Key Qualifications:
  • Previous writing and newsroom experience is essential.
  • Ideally, you already have a network within the local community and are currently residing or willing to relocate to a regional center.
  • Exceptional interviewing skills and a natural curiosity that drives you to uncover impactful stories.
  • A keen eye for detail and excellent spelling and grammar.
  • SEO and social media expertise are advantageous.
  • A passion for advocating and representing the voice of local communities.
