Remote Census Engagement Manager

Maximise Participation in the 2026 Census

About the Role

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is seeking a Remote Census Engagement Manager to play a key role in connecting stakeholders and members of the community in regional and remote areas.

As a Census Engagement Manager, you will plan, coordinate and deliver Census engagement activities for your assigned region. This includes towns and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a record of engagement activities via our ABS Stakeholder Management System
  • Developing, updating and reviewing engagement plans for your area of responsibility
  • Promoting participation in the Census through community visits, promotional activities and presentations
  • Connecting with the community, establishing networks and maintaining those relationships

Successful candidates will have experience working with or advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.

This is a casual position available in remote NSW, SA, NT, WA & QLD, paying $61.50 per hour (inclusive of 25% casual loading), plus superannuation.
