We are seeking a seasoned motor underwriter with strong commercial acumen and a digital mindset.

To excel in this role, you will need to balance risk with opportunity, lead change, and collaborate across teams to drive underwriting excellence and innovation.

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the underwriting of complex motor portfolios, applying expert judgement and leveraging digital tools to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

  • Underwrite and analyse renewal and new business opportunities within delegated authority levels.
  • Collaborate with brokers and internal teams to deliver tailored property insurance solutions.
  • Leverage data insights and digital tools to inform pricing, coverage decisions, and risk assessments.
  • Partner across Claims, Distribution, and other underwriting lines to support multi-line opportunities.
  • Contribute to underwriting innovation by sharing insights and supporting proposition development.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 6+ years of insurance experience, including motor underwriting and sales.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with ANZIIF CIP Senior Insurance Qualification.
  • Proven success in driving digital transformation or innovation within underwriting.
  • Strong understanding of underwriting systems, digital platforms, and data analytics.
  • Skilled in risk assessment using both traditional and digital methodologies.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator with internal teams and external partners.
