As a Senior Motor Underwriter, you will lead the underwriting of complex motor portfolios, applying expert judgement and leveraging digital tools to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite and analyse renewal and new business opportunities within delegated authority levels.
  • Collaborate with brokers and internal teams to develop tailored property insurance solutions.
  • Utilise data insights and digital tools to inform pricing, coverage decisions, and risk assessments.
  • Partner across Claims, Distribution, and other underwriting lines to support multi-line opportunities.
  • Contribute to underwriting innovation by sharing insights and supporting proposition development.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in the insurance industry, including motor underwriting and sales.
  • A business degree or equivalent, with ANZIIF CIP Senior Insurance Qualification.
  • A proven track record of driving digital transformation or innovation within underwriting.
  • A strong understanding of underwriting systems, digital platforms, and data analytics.
  • Skilled in risk assessment using both traditional and digital methodologies.
  • An effective communicator and collaborator with internal teams and external partners.
