Australia beBeeInternational Full time $83,706 - $89,659
Strategic Partnership Role

DIO is seeking an exceptional individual to support our senior leaders in delivering international engagement strategy and building relationships with key intelligence partners.

The ideal candidate will undertake the following tasks:

  • Support the planning and conduct of senior level international engagement activities.
  • Coordinate working level engagement activities for a small portfolio of DIO partnerships.
  • Develop and refine DIO's international engagement strategy, policies and plans.

Key responsibilities include facilitating day-to-day interactions with Canberra-based representatives of DIO's international partners, identifying opportunities for collaboration and cooperation, and representing DIO in engagement across Defence, the Australian Government, and with foreign partners.

This role requires strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, time-management, and ability to multi-task, and ingest and synthesise complex information.

Excellent judgement and initiative are essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will have a passion for problem solving, synthesising information and building relationships to deliver an outcome.

In this dynamic and inclusive workplace, we trust, respect and invest in our people, working together to achieve outcomes that advance the national interest.

We believe in nurturing organisational innovation and personal growth, and we value each other, recognising good work and cultivating a culture that makes us stronger and better intelligence professionals who question and contest ideas to deliver robust and considered outcomes.

Suitable candidates will be self-motivated, intellectually curious, demonstrate sound judgement, and a commitment to advancing Australia's national security interests.

They will have a strong ability to work collaboratively and operate effectively within high-pressure environments.

A competitive remuneration package includes an additional benefit known as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP), enabling Defence to provide a premium in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA).

This role is eligible for BDCP, which is available for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.

About Our Work

We are an organisation of dedicated professionals with a strong sense of purpose, supporting the Chief of Defence Intelligence, senior Defence decision-makers, the Minister for Defence and wide-ranging government and military customers to better understand military, technical, political, social and cultural developments, and the implications for Australia's national security and the Australian Defence Force.

We aim to make DIO an efficient, trusted and collaborative organisation, enabling our people to succeed as intelligence professionals.

Our team values diversity, inclusivity, and staff wellbeing, championing individuals to brief the highest levels of government, highlighting their knowledge and expertise.

We believe in fostering a culture that supports staff growth, champions good work, and makes us stronger and better intelligence professionals who deliver robust and considered outcomes.
