About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and creative Sous Chef to join our team at Sofitel. As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and cooking techniques in line with hotel standards
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to achieve operational objectives and maintain a positive work environment
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation and excellence in menu design and meal preparation
  • Ensure accurate costing and recipe development to maintain profitability and efficiency
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the kitchen team

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-4 years' experience in a 5-star environment as a Sous Chef or equivalent role
  • Demonstrated creativity and flair in menu design and meal preparation
  • Proven leadership skills to maintain a cohesive and motivated kitchen team
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and HACCP procedures
  • Availability to work a rotating roster including weeknights, weekends, and public holidays
