About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Pastry Sous Chef to join our team at Society Pastry. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations, providing leadership and guidance to the team, and maintaining a positive working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily kitchen operations to ensure seamless service
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team to achieve high-quality results
- Maintain a positive and respectful working environment
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or Senior CDP in a premium al a carte restaurant
- Fine dining experience advantageous
- A creative flair with extensive pastry knowledge and passion for quality and consistency
- Experience in menu creation and costing
- Resilient and able to perform in high-pressure service periods
- Strong work ethic and a "can do" attitude
- Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team
- Excellent communication, delegation, and time management skills
- Strong understanding of HACCP food safety standards
- Understanding of stock control and ordering processes
- Experience with Basecamp, H&L advantageous
- Able and willing to work shift work, including weekends and public holidays
