Job Description

As a Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that our organization maintains a robust framework of controls and safeguards to promote adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

The successful candidate will assess risks to the organization, maintain the security and privacy of patient and customer data, and assist with internal reviews, research and/or audits. You will work closely with departments and cross-functional teams to ensure all applicable documents are reviewed and revised within specified timeframes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Compliance Manager with performing internal reviews, research and/or audits to verify compliance with government laws/regulations, client requirements, accreditations/certifications, audit frameworks, and/or organizational policies/procedures.
  • Documenting findings and organizing data for identification of potential risk areas.
  • Staying informed of applicable rule and regulation changes in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Document Management System (DMS) and Learning Management System (LMS).

Additionally, you will perform document control functions, including tracking, processing, review, formatting, distribution, and archiving of documents. Your expertise will also be utilized in evaluating document organization, proofreading, and providing additional quality checks before document finalization.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CHC or other relevant certifications preferred.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio. Experience with Jira Service Desk a plus.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Collaborates with colleagues as one team.
  • Assumes positive intent in others.
  • Makes commitments and keeps commitments.
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Takes initiative to plan milestones, track progress, and prioritize workload.
