Job Overview

The Investigator Specialist leads investigations into serious incidents, complaints, and allegations to protect vulnerable individuals and improve care standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations into abuse, neglect, restrictive practices, and workplace health and safety matters.
  • Analyze evidence with precision, empathy, and procedural fairness to ensure accurate findings.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies such as the National Disability Insurance Commission, Child Protection, Ombudsman, and WorkSafe Victoria.
  • Deliver clear, trauma-informed reports and outcome letters that drive corrective action and promote quality improvement.
  • Support continuous growth by identifying trends, implementing safer practices, and fostering a culture of excellence.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, disability, child protection, or related fields are preferred.
  • Experience in investigations within out-of-home care, disability, or healthcare sectors is essential.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills are necessary for success.
