Occupational Health Coordinator

The role of Occupational Health Coordinator is a critical component in the management of work-related and non-work-related illness & injuries. This position will be responsible for coordinating medical treatment, rehabilitation, and return to work programs for employees.

  • Act as a specialist advisor/internal consultant to partner with key stakeholders in delivering effective injury and workers' compensation claims management.
  • Support project leaders in the implementation of business Injury Management Systems.
  • Coordinate workplace injury rehabilitation through proactive medical management and development of return to work programs.
  • Effectively manage and process workers' compensation claims.
  • Act as a key contact for employees, internal stakeholders, external treatment providers, allied health professionals, and insurers.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and up-to-date injury management records and utilize the Injury Management database.
  • Participate in business reporting and develop data-driven insights to inform organizational decision-making.
  • Be available for calls or on-site visits as reasonably required.
  • Attend employee medical appointments to ensure timely and effective case management.
  • Communicate medical and return-to-work status updates to relevant personnel.
  • Review and advise on pre-employment medicals.
Requirements:
  • Possess an Allied Health qualification, preferably Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Exercise Physiologist, or similar.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Have a high level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Have demonstrated experience in injury management processes and workers' compensation claims management.
  • Utilize strong planning and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Have the ability to influence, engage, and work collaboratively with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in the Mining and Resources Sector is highly regarded.
  • Hold a current valid Driver's License - Class C.
