About Our Role

Our team is seeking a dedicated and skilled Residential Support Officer to join our staff at the Maribyrnong Community Residential Facility. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support services to residents and upholding the safety and security of the facility.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively as part of a team, and possess a high level of presentation and customer service. You will also be required to undertake 12-hour shifts on a 24/7 rotating roster, which may include working nights, weekends, and public holidays.

We are looking for someone who is friendly, bubbly, and able to follow processes and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the facility. If you have experience working in a similar environment or hold relevant qualifications, we would love to hear from you.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support services to residents, including meeting and greeting staff and residents, checking bags, and checking people in and out.
  • Administer rapid antigen Covid tests to staff and check for negative results before entry.
  • Operate the gatehouse area and manage the sallyport, including checking deliveries and packages before they are admitted into site.
  • Distribute security equipment such as radios and duress alarms to staff.
  • Monitor the control room, managing several cameras and fire alarms, and troubleshooting when required.
  • Conduct community walks around the perimeter of the site, greeting residents, and assisting with any issues that arise.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Be able to work on a 24/7 rotating roster, undertaking 12-hour shifts.
  • Hold a current Victorian Security Licence (or be willing to obtain one).
  • Have a strong understanding of security procedures and protocols.
  • Be physically fit and able to perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Be willing to undergo background checks and other pre-employment screening processes.
