Job Overview

This position offers a unique opportunity to work within the Out of Home Care division, specifically in the Southern residential care program. The role involves providing case management support to children and young people with high and complex needs through a therapeutically oriented program in protective placements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver case management services within a therapeutic and trauma-informed model of care.
  • Supervise caregivers and conduct assessments to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and contribute to overall service development.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, as well as awareness of issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
  • Tertiary qualification in social work or community services, or equivalent.
  • Sound professional knowledge of trauma, attachment, and integrated trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience in child welfare practice and understanding of meeting children's developmental needs.
  • Familiarity with child safe principles and standards.
  • Casework skills, including knowledge of LAC and CRISSP/CRIS.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Essential Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Satisfactory criminal history check (paid for by employer).
  • Employee working with children check.
  • NDIS workers screening check (for risk-assessed roles).
