About the Opportunity

Kirinari Community Services, a reputable disability support service, is seeking a skilled Disability Support Specialist to join their Complex Care Team in Northern NSW.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality support services to clients with complex trauma and behavioral needs. This role involves working in various locations, including homes, schools, hospitals, community centers, and emergency accommodation, to deliver safety and support to clients while identifying growth needs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in youth work, mental health, and the disability industry, as well as experience in residential therapeutic care and complex trauma. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualification in Community Services (Cert IV) highly regarded
  • Understanding of strength-based trauma-informed practice framework
  • Understanding of the NSW Child Safe Standards
  • Previous experience in residential therapeutic care and complex trauma highly regarded

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a current Driver's Licence, ability to use computers and learn software programs, and a smartphone. You will also need to be able to obtain a paid NSW Working with Children Check and National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
