We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Disability Support Specialist to join our Complex Care Team in Northern NSW. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support to individuals with complex trauma and behavioral needs.

About the Role

You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans that promote growth and empowerment. Your expertise and experience will be essential in supporting clients with challenging behaviors, as well as those with high physical needs.

You will have the opportunity to work in various locations, including houses, schools, hospitals, community centers, and emergency accommodation. Our strength-based, non-punitive approach to care emphasizes safety and growth, and we encourage applicants who share this philosophy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centered support to clients with complex trauma and behavioral needs
  • Develop and implement individualized plans that promote growth and empowerment
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support
  • Work in various locations, including residential settings and community environments
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong interest in youth work, mental health, and disability support. A qualification in Community Services (Cert IV) is highly regarded, but not essential. Previous experience in residential therapeutic care and complex trauma is also desirable.

You must be able to obtain the NDIS Workers Screen Check prior to commencement and hold a paid NSW Working with Children Check. Additionally, you will need to complete a National Criminal History Check (paid by Kirinari). A current Driver's Licence and Smart Phone are also required.
