Executive Leadership Role

About the Job

This is a highly visible leadership role that will play an integral part in advancing and protecting the rights, health and wellbeing of people living with a disability.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record in leading, developing and managing teams to achieve social change, together with proven skills across advocacy, policy development and dealing with the media.

The role requires high level knowledge and understanding around disability policy and services, as well as experience in advising and working collaboratively with boards and senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of systemic advocacy function and individual advocacy services
  • Represent the organisation publicly and engage with external stakeholders
  • Develop and lead the systemic advocacy (policy) team
  • Support the CEO in overall leadership and management of the organisation

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A successful track record in leading, developing and managing teams to achieve social change
  • Proven skills across advocacy, policy development and dealing with the media
  • High level knowledge and understanding around disability policy and services
  • Experience in advising and working collaboratively with boards and senior leaders
  • Lived experience of disability
