About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and adaptable administrative support professional to join our dynamic Surgical Directorate team at Central Adelaide Local Health Network. As a relief officer, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of clerical, reception, ward clerk, and secretarial functions.

Reporting to the Business Consultant, Surgical Directorate, your responsibilities will include overseeing day-to-day tasks of clerical staff, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time, and handling complex administrative issues as they arise.

You will work collaboratively with hospital staff to assess priorities and allocate workloads efficiently, offering expert guidance to less experienced team members while maintaining high standards of service and continuous improvement.

This role requires someone with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, able to coordinate between departments to meet the evolving needs of the Surgical Directorate in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide relief during annual leave, long service leave, and other unexpected absences
  • Oversee day-to-day tasks of clerical staff
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and on time
  • Handle complex administrative issues as they arise
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in office software, audio typing, and electronic patient systems
  • Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and handle urgent, high-pressure situations
  • Previous administrative experience in a health setting, with a solid understanding of medical terminology and confidentiality

ASO-2 $29.57 - $31.81 per hour + 25% casual leave loading
