We are seeking an experienced designer to join our team as a Lead Experience Designer for E-commerce and Retail.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position that will oversee the design of premium, forward-thinking experiences for Qantas Loyalty's Retail and eCommerce products. The successful candidate will drive UX strategy and interaction design to create products that engage and inspire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute research, UX, and UI design for Qantas Loyalty's Retail and eCommerce products.
  • Drive UX strategy and interaction design to create products that engage and inspire.
  • Collaborate with other designers, product managers, and developers to ensure all aspects of our design solutions are intuitive, consistent, accessible, and align with project goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of design thinking, human-centred design, experience design, and research methods. They should be an innovative problem solver, self-starter, and strong collaborator who excels in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of design experience with ownership, driving understanding, and delivering solutions that enhance user experience and drive engagement.
  • Strong background in experience design, conducting and documenting research, crafting wireframes, information architecture, storyboards, sitemaps, and screen flows.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a solid understanding of user-centred design principles.
  • A practical, design-appropriate understanding of technical requirements of mobile apps, including native iOS and Android frameworks and server-driven UI.
  • Beautiful design aesthetic focusing on function while marrying compelling graphic design, leveraging Design System componentry where relevant, and complementing existing interaction patterns.
  • Strong working knowledge of Figma, Miro, and analytics and testing platforms.
  • An outstanding portfolio showcasing a foundation in Research, Prototyping, Interaction, and Visual Design.
  • Experience in an agile team utilising scrum methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders across all levels of the business and work autonomously with these stakeholders.
  • Impeccable attention to detail in deliverables and confidence in presenting them to internal stakeholders, including c-level suite, and clearly articulating design decisions.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to senior executives in a clear and concise manner, both in written and verbal formats.

Salary

$120,000 - $150,000 per annum, plus superannuation and bonuses.
