Job Overview

The Threat Intelligence Lead plays a pivotal role in defining and implementing Canonical's threat intelligence strategy. This involves understanding the cyber threats facing our organization, as well as utilizing intelligence on Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) to enhance our products and internal cybersecurity controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute Canonical's threat intelligence strategy to inform product development and internal security practices.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive OSINT research environments to identify emerging threats.
  • Create and disseminate OSINT tradecraft principles and techniques to enhance team capabilities.
  • Analyze proprietary and open-source datasets to track targeted intrusion cyber threats, trends, and new developments by cyber threat actors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share insights on activity of interest.
  • Coordinate adversary/campaign tracking efforts.
  • Promote Canonical's involvement in the wider threat intelligence community, establishing us as key contributors and thought leaders.
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to provide strategic guidance on cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies.
  • Liaise with the OPSEC and IS team to implement/update security controls prioritizing cyber defense.
  • Identify intelligence gaps and propose innovative tools and research projects to address them.
Requirements
  • A seasoned threat intelligence leader with expertise in OSINT and computer networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with current open-source threat landscape and ability to identify, organize, catalogue, and track adversary tradecraft trends often with incomplete data.
  • Proficiency in using threat intelligence data to influence enterprise architecture or product development decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate technical content effectively to various audiences.
