Job Title: Intellectual Property Compliance Specialist

Eden Ritchie Recruitment is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Compliance Specialist to join their team. This role involves assessing copyright material, establishing moral rights ownership, and maintaining a register of copyright and privacy documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the registration of copyright and privacy documents and maintain accurate records of attributions and consents obtained.
  • Conduct reviews of third-party included materials and advise on actions required for decentralized use.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and departmental risk management reviews.
  • Prepare reports identifying gaps, issues, and recommendations through records review.
  • Implement findings from reports in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Support the development of agreements or contracts with jurisdictions on intellectual property arrangements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Copyright Officer, Privacy Officer, or Record Officer within government or a large complex organisation.
  • Experience and expertise in Australian intellectual property legislation, including differences across jurisdictions.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed judgments and recommendations.
  • Experience working with Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) and/or First Nation's peoples and content preferred.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field are desired but not essential.
