Job Title: Workplace Health and Wellbeing SpecialistThis role is responsible for delivering high-quality workplace health and wellbeing services to support the organisation's injury management and return-to-work objectives.The Workplace Health and Wellbeing Specialist will work closely with local and regional management, employees, medical practitioners, and insurers to provide case management services, promote employee support services, and contribute to the continuous improvement of wellbeing and return-to-work practices.The key responsibilities of this role include:
  • Performing the functions of a trained Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator as outlined under relevant legislation;
  • In collaboration with managers, providing case management services for ill or injured employees, adhering to legislative and policy requirements;
  • Assisting local management and employees navigate and negotiate workplace rehabilitation and return-to-work processes;
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of wellbeing, injury management, and return-to-work practices, policies, and procedures across the organisation;
  • Promoting employee support services, including employee assistance programs (EAP) and referrals to health and wellbeing initiatives;
  • Providing information, instruction, and training on workplace health and safety, workers' compensation, and rehabilitation processes, including relevant legislation and policy;
  • Participating in hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control activities, collaborating with Senior Advisors based in regions;
  • Offering regular analysis of wellbeing and injury management data, highlighting performance trends to local and regional management;
  • Supporting the delivery of key mental health and wellbeing programs within the organisation;
  • Fostering relationships throughout the organisation to create collaborative partnerships, facilitating quality health and wellbeing practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a field such as occupational health and safety, human resources, or a related discipline;
  • Proven experience in workplace health and wellbeing, injury management, and return-to-work coordination;
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and policy, including workers' compensation and workplace health and safety;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders;
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
